Nicolás II, último zar de Rusia, su esposa Alejandra y sus cinco hijos fueron canonizados en el año 2000 por la Iglesia Ortodoxa Rusa como "portadores de la pasión" (santos que enfrentan la muerte con humildad cristiana) y no estrictamente como mártires de la fe. Ejecutados en Ekaterimburgo el 17 de julio de 1918, fueron glorificados por su piedad y sufrimiento.

🟤 And when in 1864 the serfs of Russia were emancipated, our Icon was there!
🟤 And when the internal discontent grew and the last Tsar in the Romanov Dynasty, Nicholas II was assassinated with his entire family, our Icon was there!
